Perfect Starter Case April 12, 2010 TLM (Indy) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I knew I needed a case to protect my Kindle2 when I purchased her, I just wasn't sure which one I wanted. Too many beautiful choices and of course I want the ones on the higher end pricewise. I saw this one and figured for $10 total with the s&h I couldn't go wrong. I was surprised at how nice it is for only $6. Nothing fancy, light weight, soft interior. Elastic corners get in the way of the on/off button and back button, but it isn't too big a problem. This will do until I can make up my mind which of the more expensive cases I want. Maybe even recieve as birthday gift.
If all you need is a basic case this will fit the bill.
Misleading Product Description and photo BUT Great products March 1, 2010 Diana (CT USA) 7 out of 9 found this review helpful
Hey, come on now, for (...), doesn't take a geniuses to figure out something is so wrong here. Even just the screen protector alone cost a lot more than that!
I was using a gift card for purchasing Kindle accessories and have a few dollars left so I thought why not, worst case I lost (...) since it's not worth returning. Turned out this is a black skin cover for kindle 2 and a great screen protector. As you probably already knew, all other skin covers cost at least (...) for plain color and (...) and up for the ones with patterns.
There are perfect cut out positions for the navigator button and bottom and top for on/off switch/headphone and USB2/reset hole, speaks too on the back. The rest is just a raised print that you can hardly read but to feel for previous/next page/home/menu/back buttons which in time, you'll memories those positions anyway and the raised print will become a plus.
As for the Screen protector, I like it very much because this one is unlike the soft and flexible ones I have for my media players and GPS. This one actually is kind of hard not stretchable but somewhat bendable, comes with a cardboard like soft card to help scrapping the bubbles out and a wonderful small silk like cloth...one that some companies use for eye glasses cloth and it's really good quality especially if you use hand lotion a lot. Basically it sucks up all the oil and last a long time keeping your glasses/screen clean without the need of washing the cloth. Back to the screen protector, you'll need to remove the top and bottom cover sheets. They are labeled clearly and each has a tap sticking out with instruction and help you removing them by pulling the taps. One side labeled as front and the other as back. Only one side is sticky (I think the back, can't remember but you can feel it's slightly sticky). You will need to place it perfectly to the screen as it smuggles perfectly into the indented white shell. If it's not positioned correctly, you'll ended up with edges sticking to the white cover and not the screen itself. It took me 4 tries to get it perfectly sit into the frame and you do need to scrap the bubbles out, I don't have many as while I'm placing the sheet on, I'm scrapping it the sametime...take your time, it's worth it! It claims it's washable but why would you need to when you have the cloth! I did touch a corner on the sticky side so that corner didn't really stick but for me it's perfect as I don't know how you can remove it otherwise. With that tiny little corner away from the screen, it'll help removing it.
Can't believe I wrote such a long review for something cost so little but in my opinion it worth every penny. As you can see from the other comment, still rated 3 stars with unexpected item. Should tell you something. Hope you find this helpful.
Replacement Product is as advertized March 25, 2010 W. Briggs 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I originally received a silicon rubber cover for my Kindle not the carrying case pictured. I did complain to the company and they sent the correct cover, a simple feux leather cover with felt lining and elastic straps to hold the kindle in place. It is functional and exactly as advertised.
If you are looking for a cheap cover that does not need a clasp, this is a great buy. Make sure you get the correct product.
I commend the company for taking responsibility and correcting their error.
Crazy on digital Kindle2 cover March 26, 2010 C. Tufts (Okinawa, Japan) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I don't know what the other reviewers bought but the one I bought is definitely NOT a skin. It's a carrying/ protective case just like the one Amazon sells for 9 times more. Couldn't expect better for less than $5. It's not real leather but feels nice, fits perfect, and the inside cover has a nice soft material to protect your Kindle - even though it's not real suede.
The screen protector is kind of hard to put on, and if you get the back dirty it's a pain to clean. It is washable but then how do you dry the adhesive side without getting lint or fingerprints on it?? But I was careful, and after a few misses,it's now protecting my kindle's screen and I love it!!!
Good Value April 1, 2010 Steplander (New York) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I like this cover a lot. I miss having an elastic band strap to keep the book closed but that's nothing a simple rubber band can't fix.
The package comes with a clear plastic cover for the Kindle screen. It installs easily and the enclosed instructions walk you through the application process so you're not left with bubbles.
After application, I was surprised at how good it looked but missed the kindle matt finish/no glare screen so I decided to remove the clear plastic after a couple of days. But I can see how a lot of people would like this screen cover. BTW: Removal of the plastic did not damage the Kindle screen so if you're concerned about this don't worry.
One minor note, and this has more to do with the Kindle Design than the book cover; the top left elastic strap covers the On/Off button. It's unavoidable and not too much of a problem.
The cover is really well made and a good value for the low price paid. I'm happy with my purchase.
