FYI: The title is a bit misleading now that the newer HR22 and HR23 are available. Both of those also work with the AM21. The HR20 is the only HD DVR from DirecTV that doesn't work because it has it's own, built in Over The Air (OTA) tuners.

This product works well but you can get it cheaper from directv for just 50 dollars with free shipping

Because DirecTV would not carry my local PBS station in HD, I bought this and put up a digital antenna. The unit integrates well with the DirecTV DVR and the "off air" programming is integrated right inot the guide.

The AM21 works great when paired with an appropriate antenna. Can be ordered directly from DTV for $50 so don't pay more than that for it though.
