While traveling for work I brought my Nikon D40 along, but forgot the charger. My wife was going to come visit me for the weekend so I figured she could bring the charger... When she couldn't find it anywhere so I ordered this one and had it shipped to our home. I found a universal charger in the local Target that would have worked, but the cost was more than 2x of this one.
I charged up my original battery as well as a spare aftermarket (non-OEM) battery that I had ordered along with this charger and they both charged fine. I took a little over 300 shots on the aftermarket battery and it was still over half full, so I know it got a good charge.
I like the fold out power plug so there is no cable to worry about. It did come with a power cable to use in the car, but I have not had a chance to try it yet.
